Hello, loyal readers. Thanks for reading my blog for the
past nine weeks. Thanks also for all the thought and curiosity that went into
writing your comments and questions. They were all great, but I think a special
shout out to Ziba is in order for her incredibly smart questions.
As I explained last week, I was an idiot when it came to my
spring break, so this is going to be my last post. With the completion of this
week, I will have practically finished my last requirement to graduate with
high honors (except for finishing my slides for my presentation and presenting
and probably completing some surveys or something...actually just strike that).
I sincerely want to thank everyone who made this project happen. In particular,
I ought to thank Ms. Reznik, who helped me write an awesome proposal (which I
unfortunately had to deviate from), and everyone at the DBG, who gave me a
great experience.
I would also like to thank all the students, teachers, and
administrators who have made my BASIS experience as great as it was. There are
way too many people to list here (and I doubt they read this blog anyways), but
I will do my best to thank each one individually and in person.
I'm not in a very reflective mood right now, so I am not
going to comment too much on my experiences at BASIS (this is also just not the
right forum). However, I will say that I would without a doubt go to BASIS if I
had to repeat fifth through twelfth grade. If you have any questions, I
would be happy to answer them in the comments.
I feel like I have delayed enough from talking about my
presentation (by the way you all are invited to my presentation at May 6th at
1:20). I will be talking about the cottonwoods. While I will not have spectroscopy
data, there are some other data, which I will be presenting on. I think I’ll
try to focus on the larger picture while still trying to explain my
contributions to the project. At the lab, we are trying to paint a complete
picture of the water stress of Fremont cottonwoods and climate change. I’m
going to try my best to explore the picture, but I’m afraid a lot of it has yet
to be painted in.
Well. That’s it. Thanks again for reading.
Hey Brian, good luck with your presentation, and congratulations for surviving basis for all those years. I hope I can do the same.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Angela
DeleteThanks for the shoutout; I really enjoyed learning about all of this. I hope you had as much fun researching it as I did reading it. Good luck finishing your project and good luck in the future!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ziba
DeleteHey, I hope you do well on that presentation. Also, yay Ziba! :)

DeleteAwww, I want a shout out. Hahaha just kidding... I'm sorry to hear that this is you're last post and although your project didn't work out the way you wanted it to, I enjoyed following your blog and learning about a topic that i find to be extremely important for our future. I wish you all the best, and good luck!
ReplyDeleteYou're too kind, Joey. I am glad to have you on team WTW.
DeleteBryan, I have enjoyed every post of yours from week 1 to week 9. I hope you ace that presentation. Good luck!

DeleteWhat a shame. You had a great blog. Have a nice spring break. I wish I could take a spring break :(
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eric. I am still working this week, but I'm just done recording my hours and writing blog posts. Don't feel bad about being a go-getter.
DeleteHi Brian. I have really enjoyed reading your posts these 9 weeks. Congratulations on graduating (almost) from BASIS!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Saaketh.
DeleteWell, all good things come to an end. I enjoyed following your blog from week to week, and like you, my project also deviated from my original proposal XD
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that you enjoyed my project, Richard. I also really liked your blog.
